CloseJason is the Head of Learning UK, leading a team that shape the learning and development strategy for the UK, with responsibility for defining, designing, implementing, and managing innovative learning programmes that align with our people priorities and promote a culture of continuous learning. He directly supports the UK Head of People in the development of their People Strategy & is the key advisor to executives on all matters relating to Enterprise Learning, including learning and development plans, budgets and priority capability shifts. Jason also sits on the Advisory Board of the UK Financial Services Skills Commission.
In addition to UK responsibilities, Jason also has product ownership of a portfolio of group-wide HSBC skills academies, which include the Leadership, People Management, Careers and Professional & Personal skills.
Jason joined HSBC in 2017 & has close to 40 years of financial services experience. He has built a broad career, working in different geographies and a variety of areas including customer facing and head office roles, network management, regulated sales and project management before specialising in learning and development since 2007.
He has over 25 years’ experience in people management and leadership, is CIPD qualified, a practitioner in MBTI, Insights Discovery and Korn Ferry psychometric assessments and is an Executive Coach.
Jason lives in Worcester with his wife (Karen) & his son (Harry 16) who is just about to start his A-Levels. His daughter (Evie 19) is currently studying at University of Warwick.

In 2016 Stephanie was invited to the International Positive Psychology and education conference in Dallas to speak alongside Dr Martin Seligman and Sean Achor. Her client list includes First Direct, Department of Health, giffgaff, EE, and O2, Virgin to name a few. She is passionate about developing organisations and communities where people come first.
On top of her busy schedule, Stephanie is often asked to contribute to popular television programmes, such as The ITN news expert for humour, happiness and health, BBC’s Heaven & Earth and is a regular on BBC Radio. Her book Laughology, the science of laughter to improve your life has received excellent reviews on Amazon, The Guardian book site and Watkins book review.
Daniel Wain runs his own learning and development (L&D) consultancy, training and coaching across the world in a range of business, communication and relationship skills. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, a Fellow of the Market Research Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, as well as a full member of the Society of Authors, the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain and the UK actors’ union Equity. He started his business career as a market researcher over 30 years ago, before moving into business development and then L&D.
His last ‘proper job’ was as Worldwide Director of L&D at Research International, part of the WPP Group. Since founding Daniel Wain Consulting Limited in 2007, his clients have included Avon, the BBC, BT, Capita, Coca-Cola, GfK NOP, Hewlett-Packard, the House of Commons, Ipsos MORI, Kantar, McCann, Ofcom, PwC, Telia Sonera, Tesco Bank, Transport for London, the U.S. Embassy in London, Utility Warehouse and Waitrose.
Daniel is also an accomplished and award-winning conference speaker and chair, as well as a regular contributor to a variety of business and academic magazines and journals. He has been a fellow or lecturer at several UK business schools, as well as a Visiting Professor at the IE Business School in Madrid. His passion is theatre: he runs his own semi-professional company, is a published playwright, a multi-award-winning actor and recently made his debut as a film director!
